   Clay County 1890 Jail
   Museum-Heritage Center
   * Features: Jail and sheriff's living quarters in 1890s to 1900s style depicting life on the frontier.

   Floral Heights Studio Gallery

   Kemp Center for the Arts

   Studio Brazos Gallery

   Wichita Falls
   Museum and Art Center
   * Exhibits: Through Sept. 1 - "Erwin E. Smith: Cowboy Photographer." Also on display are "Windy City Blues" and "Narrative Portraits," part of the museum's annual quilt exhibit featuring fabric artists of Chicago-based FACET. Also, the art of Henry E. Hobson is on display.
   * Coming up: Sept. 5-Nov. 30 - "Artists of the American West."
   * Events: Evening with the Stars begins at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month. Includes a planetarium show, outdoor viewing of the sky from the museum grounds. $2 for nonmembers. Discounted for members.
   * Features: The Discovery Room features a 90-square-foot maze.

   Field of Honor

   The Plex Family
   Entertainment Center
   * Features: No-alcohol, no-smoking facility. Go-carts, bumper boats, two 18-hole miniature golf courses, 275-yard driving range, Laser Trek, largest outdoor batting cage facility in North Texas, 3,600 square foot Laser Trek arena, video arcade with children's rides and two-story ball crawl. The Plex restaurant features salad bar, pizza, hamburgers and can cater parties.

   Red River Speedway
   * Features: State-of-the-art high-banked asphalt, quarter-mile racing surface, 30,000 watts of lighting. Street stock, sportsman, pony stocks and lightning racing.

   River Bend Nature Works
   * Coming up: Sept. 8 - River Bend Nature Works' Pioneer Experience kickoff from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Features tours, demonstrations from a flint knapper and blacksmith, barbershop quartet music, fiddle players, buffalo soldiers, pioneer arts and crafts. $5 for adults and $3 for children 3-12. The exhibit will be open to the public beginning Sept. 11 for guided group tours.
   * Features: Environmental education-nature center. Tours, pavilion rental, birthday packages.
   * Where: On Sunset Drive and Third Street, at the entrance to Lucy Park.    Sand Beach Skating Rink
   and Swimming Pool
   * Features: The pool, open through Labor Day, features a 32-foot slide, diving board, shallow area for children. Pool is surrounded by shaded picnic area with tables and grills. Sand volleyball, basketball, horseshoes. Snack bar. The skating rink is open year-round and includes a 10,000 square foot hardwood floor, stereo sound system, rental skates, pool table, video games, party tables, snack bar, skate sales and service. In-line skates allowed if clean and in good repair.
   * Where: 4490 Iowa Park Road. Open: The pool is open through Labor Day. The skating rink is open year round, from 7-11:30 p.m. Fri. and Sat. and from 2-4:30 p.m. on Sun. Admission: Half price after 5 p.m. Mon.-Fri. Two days' admission for the price of one on Tuesday and Thursday. Call: (940) 855-2711.
   Skate Whirl
   * Features: 14,000 square-foot maple wood floor. In-lines and quads welcome. Roller hockey programs. Video arcade. Snack bar. A 3,000-watt sound system and light system. Group rates. Available for birthday parties.
   * Where: 4208 Jacksboro Highway. Open: From 1-4 p.m. and from 6:30-9 p.m. every Mon. Skate Whirl is open on Tues., Wed. and Sun. for private parties. Hours on Thursday are from 1-4 p.m. and 6:30-9 p.m. Skate Whirl is also open from 1-4 p.m. and 7-11 p.m. on Fri., and from 1-3:30 p.m. or 2:30-5 p.m. on Sat. Admission: $1 for skate rental. $3 for a two-hour session (But $4.50 for a 2-hour session on Saturdays). $3.50 for a 2 1/2-hour session. $4.50 for 4-hour sessions on Fri. and Sat.
